The Regulation

Flight delays and cancellations can play havoc with your travel plans. The EU law relating to air passengers rights is known as Regulation (EC) No 261/2004. It’s a European law that helps to protect your passenger rights in the event of flight delays, cancellations, or denied boarding.

Flight Delays
Passengers that suffer a flight delay of more than three hours, may be eligible for a payment of up to €600 flight compensation.

Flight Cancellations 
If your flight was canceled within 14 days of departure you could claim between €250 and €600 compensation from the airline. 

Denied Boarding  
Airlines often overbook flights in the hope that not all passengers will show up. If your airline refused to let you travel, you may be entitled to compensation of up to €600.
